I don’t think that it should be suprising that they had to integrate a bus system into it, that should be stipulated going into any type of capital intensive form of transportation. I think that if the rail system was added, CARTA could be reworked to funciton around and in support of it, and it would probably funciton more efficiently than it currently does. There is no silver bullet to traffic congestion, its all about a comprehensive approach, centered around a light rail system.


The P&C has been running a series about the prospect of light rail in Charleston, and has also been running articles about how bad the traffic congestion has gotten. They’ve talked about how well Charlotte’s rail system is working. There’s definately a pattern developing, Go P&C!
